ProRebar/ProConcrete User’s Council Design Meeting

ProRebar and ProConcrete users are invited to a special full-day, pre-forum meeting with aSa and Bentley product designers, developers, and consultants. The purpose of this all-day session is to review new features and functionality and to brainstorm and prioritize the future development of the product.

Getting Started with aSa.Studio

Build a foundation for success. First, we’ll provide a high-level overview of our next generation web suite: aSa.Studio. Then, you’ll learn how easy it is to set up your own customers, jobs, and inventory items using aSa.Studio tools.

 

The interface for 2D and 3D drafting has a new look and feel. Let aSa and Bentley CAD experts give you an in-depth tour while you get comfortable with the screen via hands-on exercises.

Using Order Entry and Import-Export Tools

Create your own orders in aSa.Studio. Practice entering bars and other material. You’ll also learn about importing and exporting data in the new system.

 

In this three-part session, you will gain the skills you need to begin detailing in the world of BIM. The first session covers:

• Creating a drawing
• Setting up a workframe
• Adding and modifying concrete elements

Working with aSa.Studio Production Tools

You created orders in the morning aSa.Studio session. Now, it’s time to fabricate steel. You’ll have the chance to create fabrication schedules, generate tags, and learn how machines and processing routes can help make your shop more efficient.

 

The second part of the ProRebar workshop builds on skills from the previous session. You will go in-depth into the various reinforcement tools used to quickly add rebar to your concrete shapes.

Shipping and Tracking Your Material

Building on the activities from earlier aSa.Studio sessions, you will explore how to:

• Create shipping tickets
• Relieve and track inventory and heat info
• Track real-time fabrication status
• Validate trailer loading

 

The third part of the ProRebar workshop covers:

• Creating 2D placing drawings from your 3D model
• Taking off material for downstream processing in aSa e^x
• Using IFC files to share data with other modeling software packages, such as Revit and Tekla

You will also learn about advanced topics, such as working with shape files, lap tables, and end conditions.

Digging into Your Data with aSa.Studio

How do you get the information you need in the format you want? In this session, you’ll get first-hand knowledge of aSa.Studio tools that let you extract, display, and manipulate key business information. Learn to create and customize Dashboards, Reports, and Inquiries.

 

While the main drawing and detailing tools are local, aSa 3D and 2D CAD applications are tightly integrated with the rest of aSa’s product line in the aSa.Studio web suite. Customer, Job, Takeoff, and more will be covered in this hands-on workshop.

Up and Coming: Estimating, Contract Management, Invoicing, and Cash Receipts

We’ll share some of our initial design ideas for up and coming aSa.Studio applications, including Estimating, Contract Management, Invoicing, and Cash Receipts. Then, we’ll gather your feedback and ideas so we can steer ongoing development based on your needs.

 

What will computer-optimized shearing look like in aSa.Studio? Join us for this exciting production-themed session, and see a demo of the direction we’re heading. Additionally, the meeting will include a discussion about “dynamic production” – a method for processing material that is extremely adaptable to changing priorities and shop conditions.

 

Owners, detailing supervisors, and detailers: if you haven’t made the leap to 3D modeling yet, but want to find out what it’s all about, come to our product demo. We’ll give you a high-level overview of our 3D detailing suite and how you can benefit from BIM in today’s construction industry.

This two-part class focuses on tools and functionality introduced in aSa v18.1 and other recent versions. Part 1 covers:

• Bundle Inventory
• Material Tracking
• Load Tracking
• Importing and exporting Rebar Data Exchange (RDX) files

 

Inventory Management and Light Manufacturing Discussion

Do you have inventory needs that go beyond rebar and a few mesh items? Do you need a way to track coating processes, cage assemblies, custom-fabricated mesh, and other made-to-order products? Share your thoughts and ideas, and we’ll build the functionality you need into future versions of aSa.Studio.

 

Demo: AutoCAD and Revit Solutions

A variety of 3D modeling tools are available to fabricators, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders. In this session, aSa’s CAD team will provide an overview of one AutoCAD-based rebar modeling product. Additionally, the session will cover Bar List for Revit, a utility that allows you to take off material from a Revit model for use in downstream aSa modules.

Accounting 101

Unlike our current product, aSa.Studio does not require a specific third-party financial package for back-end accounting. It will interface with any number of third-party business tools. This session compares some options you may want to consider for AP and GL functionality.

Share cloud construction data with other stakeholders and everyone wins … especially when that data is available on mobile devices at the jobsite. Whether you’re new to Estimating or an experienced user ready to improve your game with some advanced skills, this hands-on workshop is for you. In this class, we will start with the basics and move on to custom report summaries and totals, packages and macros, and various other time-saving utilities.

 

Wouldn’t it be nice if your customers could quickly and accurately order steel online? Our web-based order entry system is exactly the solution you need. In this session, you’ll learn all about Go Rebar. Best of all, it’s a hands-on workshop, so you can experience for yourself how easy it is to create and manage orders.

Get the Results You Want from aSa Shearing

In this hands-on session, we will look at all aspects of Production e^x, from setting up a session and printing tags, to creating a fully optimized run. You will learn how the various production options help you to meet material and production goals and adapt to changing requirements and shop conditions.

 

Learn about all the ways you can take off and manage material more efficiently. We will begin with basic order entry, then progress to discover the module’s many time-saving detailing tools. Additionally, we will cover Shape Manager and new functionality for detailing manufactured assemblies.

 

Sage 500 Explorer views let you see your financials data in nearly any way imaginable. In this session, you’ll learn how to summarize, group, and drill into Rebar Financials data. We’ll also explore creating your own reports with aSa Custom Report Manager. Best of all, it’s a hands-on workshop, so you get to practice your skills and create your own inquiries and reports.

DIY: Web Scheduling, Load Tracking, and Delivery Ticket

You’ll make sample production and delivery plans using web-based Scheduling. Additionally, you’ll see how flexible Load Building can be: split control codes onto multiple shipments, create delivery tickets from on-the-fly loads, and much more. Instruction and practice focus on new features in v18.1 and other recent releases.

At the forum’s last meeting, we open the floor to your questions, comments, and suggestions. Representatives from each of aSa’s departments will be on-hand to answer your questions and discuss the ways in which current and future software tools can work harder for your organization. This session also provides a great opportunity to gather your feedback and incorporate your ideas into future design and development plans.
